Homework
Reading
We expect all children to read daily. To support and encourage engagement in Reading, we offer a reading reward system of jewel-themed badges, supported by our PTFA.
- Home reading books will be changed once a week. They will be chosen by the teacher alongside your child based upon their phonics knowledge and reading comprehension.
- Your child will also visit our library weekly to choose a book they are interested and engaged in
- Children’s home reads will be recorded on our reading badge bookmarks
- For every day your child reads, they will move closer to earning a special badge.
- Library books, Bug Club online resources and home reading books can all be used for the reads towards their badge.
- Record every day they read on their reading book mark by putting the date and your initials. An example has been shown here.

1. Go to www.activelearnprimary.co.uk
2. Enter the login details (ask your teacher if you need these again). Our school code is qwl7
3. Your child’s homepage will appear.
- Teaching staff will allocate books to your child.
- These books will appear in the ‘My Stuff’ area of their personal homepages and finished books will move to ‘My Library’.
- Children can read these books again if they want to, or they can choose new books from ‘My Stuff’.
Spelling
Each child will have spellings sent home weekly. These will be tested the following week in class.
Curriculum
A half termly curriculum overview will be sent out which contains information on what your child is learning, along with links and activity suggestions
